Our Story

Hopeful Hearts Foundation is a youth-led nonprofit focused on spreading awareness about all types of disabilities. Our goal is to educate, advocate, and inspire understanding through events, fundraisers, and community efforts.

We believe every person, regardless of ability, deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. We’re currently working on building our presence and becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Different, Not Less

We chose the slogan “Different, Not Less” because it truly reflects our mission. Having a disability doesn’t make someone any less, it just means they experience life differently.

MEET THE TEAM

Dhiya Tamilselvan

Hi, I'm Dhiya! I’m passionate about supporting kids with disabilities. I’ve been involved with CAMP (Children’s Association for Maximum Potential), participated in PALS at school, and I spend weekends teaching kids at a local language school.

I plan to pursue pre-med and am currently involved in a research program at UT Austin. I hope to become a doctor who advances both patient care and science. Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with friends and being creative!

Kids with disabilities are talented, capable, and full of potential. They deserve kindness, respect, and understanding like everyone else.

Samyuktha Mani

Hey, I'm Samyuktha! I have CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), so disability awareness is deeply personal to me. I want others to understand that having a disability doesn’t make someone “less” — just different.

I enjoy time with my friends and family, and I want others to see that people with disabilities can do so many of the same things as anyone else. Our slogan “Different, Not Less” is truly what we believe.

Treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what they’re going through. We’re all human.

In my spare time, I enjoy journaling, spending time outdoors, and trying out new recipes. I believe that people with disabilities should be celebrated for their strengths and supported in every way possible. Our slogan “Different, Not Less” perfectly captures the heart of our mission.

Inclusion starts with understanding—let’s continue to learn, grow, and support one another every day.
